IPS Full Form: Indian Police Service
IPS full form is Indian Police Service. To become an IPS, you have to give an entrance exam, you have to be physically fit and there are many tests, after this test is cleared, you will go for training and all the training is a candidate can become an IPS officer.
Millions of people sit in the exam every year for this IPS position. Only a few people can pass through it.
To become an IPS, you must be between 21 and 30 years of age, 5 years of relaxation given here for SC and ST candidates.
You should have a certificate of Bachelor’s Degree in any stream. People of India, Nepal, and Bhutan, can give this IPS exam.
Physical ability for male
Height should be 165 cm for General Candidate and 160 cm for SC ST and OBC cast.
The width of the chest should be 84 centimeters.
Physical ability for female
For women, the minimum height should be 150 centimeters and all of this is for the general category, in the case of SC ST or OBC people, the height should be 145 cm. The chest of women should be 79 centimeters
If eyesight talked about, then eyes should have 6/6 or 6/9 vision. For weak eyes, the vision of the eyes should be 6/12 or 6/9.
Process of IPS
To become an IPS, you have to pass 12th first. You can pass your 12th by choosing any stream between Science, Arts, and Commerce.
After passing the 12th, you can complete your graduation in any subject in which you will have an interest. To become an IPS officer, it is very important to complete graduation.
After the completion of graduation, you will have to apply for the UPSC exam. If you want, you can apply for the UPSC exam in the final year of your graduation too.
UPSC exam is one of the difficult exams to become IAS, IPS, and IRS, and UPSC conducts all three exams.
UPSC exam divided into 3 Section
- Preliminary Exam
- Main Exam
- Personal Interview.
After clearing the 3 exams of UPSC, you sent for training and you will become an IPS officer.
After applying for this exam, first of all, you have to clear the preliminary exam.
It consists of 2 papers, both of which bring multiple-choice questions. Every paper has a mark of 200 each, so overall you have to give 400 mark exams.
After clearing the Preliminary you can attend the main exam.
After the Preliminary exam, the main exam comes, clearing this is more difficult than the Preliminary
It has 9 papers in total, in which you have to give an interview along with the written exam. Most of the candidates cant clear this round.
You called for a personal interview only after clearing the main exam.
After clearing the Preliminary and Main Exam, you are called to give a personal interview. This round is about 45 minutes.
There are a lot of interviewers and they ask the candidates very hard and tricky questions. If you are successfully selected in your personal interview, you are sent to IPS officer training.
Training for IPS Officer
After clearing the UPSC exam, the IPS officer sent for training. This training takes place in cities like Mussoorie and Hyderabad. After completion of the training, you are given a posting. Similarly, IPS officer selection is done in India.
